This in-depth exploration will cover the rich history of Ashtanga Yoga, sacred chanting, Sanskrit counting, essential poses, and the art of adjustments. Throughout the class, we'll meticulously break down each pose, delving into both the mental and physical alignment of the asanas, providing a deep understanding as we progress through the series. Trainees will engage in numerous practices, where the emphasis will be on exploring the harmonious connection between breath and movement, synchronizing their vinyasa flow. The required book for this weekend is "Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual" by David Swenson. This illustrated guide is a valuable resource for practitioners of all yoga forms, offering insights into personal practice. This time together is dedicated to introducing the fundamental principles of Ashtanga Yoga, the very root of all contemporary yoga practices. Be prepared for a physically challenging and mentally invigorating experience as we stretch our breath, body, and dristi to attain a heightened state of concentrated focus. 15 hours of CE for teachers registered through Yoga Alliance. Must have 200-hour YTT in order to recieve the CEU's.
